what gauge is the wire from the distributor to the engine coil?

the diameter of the wire is 7mm and 4 gauge is 6.5mm OD does this mean that the wire going from the distributor to the coil is 4 gauge wire?

need to know cause im replacing it

The wire is a very fine gauge, if it is a metallic wire at all (modern spark plug wire is carbonised rubber).
The bulk of the thickness is in insulation, becasue of the very high voltage.

You just need to go buy what is called spark
