Is there a way to test an alternator with a DVOM (digital volt ohm meter) to see if it's functioning properly?
I think my alternator on my 1986 Mercedes Benz 300E is bad, but I don't want to remove it and take it to an autoparts store to have it tested because it is in a difficult location to remove. How can I test it with a DVOM to see if it's working properly?
