Should I get a new or used engine block to build a 351 w stroker?
I want to build a 351 windsor based stroker engine. 408 or greater. Should I get a used 351 engine block or a new aftermarket block (ford racing, dart ect). The older block would need machining but I could probably find one for a couple hundred dollars.
any stroker engine requires ALOT of machine work (new or used block). other than the "normal" machine work for boring, line honing, etc., you will need to mock up the engine several times to check the rod clearance at the oil pan rails, cam
